Hearts in San Francisco Website Process

In late 2015 I took an intermediate Information Design class at San Francisco State. The project for the class was to create a walking tour for the Hearts in San Francisco. Every year the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation puts on a fundraiser for the hospital. Artists from all different backgrounds submit their designs for the hearts every year. The hearts are then created and auctioned at the annual fundraising gala. Some are purchased for private homes, some are purchased for public spaces, some are purchased for corporate spaces. My idea was to do a paid guided or a free self-guided tour. First I had to find the hearts, then I had to create several options for how a tour would work.

There were a lot of iterations and planning and re-planning. Plans changed repeatedly. In the end I created a presentation that was a story about a woman and her quest for love in the age of online dating, and how to navigate making plans. The entire presentation came from her perspective.

And finally I came to the phase where I could implement my designs.
